是2005年一群音樂人致敬萊昂納德-諾曼-科恩的音樂會紀錄片。有好聽的音樂，還有珍貴的舊影像。

結(jié)尾科恩獻唱Tower of Song，伴奏的是U2，和聲是Bono，這些大名鼎鼎的音樂人都是科恩的粉絲。

萊昂納德-諾曼-科恩，生于魁北克，加拿大創(chuàng)作歌手、音樂人、詩人及小說家。他的作品充滿對宗教、孤獨、性以及權(quán)利的探討。

2006年，出版Booking of longing，獻給他的導師Irving Layton。

唱片事業(yè)相當輝煌，作品無數(shù)。Hallelujah這首歌，他寫了幾乎80個版本的主歌，慢慢修剪成最終的歌曲，成為美國音樂歷史上最縈繞心頭、最常被改編和最多變的歌曲之一。不過科恩的歌有一半魅力都在歌詞，另外40%的魅力是他的聲音。曲調(diào)嘛，他自己在本片中也說，經(jīng)常唱不出調(diào)來。本片以I'm your man開場，選擇的都是科恩比較有代表性的作品。

詩人，歌手，大眾情人。人們給他貼上各種標簽，他對此苦笑。大概他本人最喜歡的標簽是僧人吧，曾有一度在美國洛彬磯的一家僧院修行，脫下阿瑪尼，剃去頭發(fā)。

僧院的老師Roshi是日本人，僧人班頭兒是德國人?？贫髡f這就像是對二戰(zhàn)的復仇，一個日本人和一個德國人帶著一群美國人在山里修行，時不時還會有懲戒。沒有幾天科恩便留下紙條悄然離去。但是那個地方還是有什么在吸引著他，過了幾個月他又回去了。

本片中科恩說：

For many years, I was known as a monk, I shaved my head and wore robes, got up very early. I hated everyone but I acted generously, and no one found me out. My reputation as a ladies man was a joke. It caused me to laugh bitterly through the 10,000 nights I spent alone.

在許多年里，我是一個僧人，我剃去頭發(fā)，穿上僧袍，每天早起。我恨所有人，但我行事大方，人們沒有識破我。我“大眾情人”的稱號是一個笑話，在上萬個孤獨的夜晚里我為此苦笑不已。

Sometimes, when you no longer see yourself as the hero of your own drama, expecting victory after victory, and you understand deeply that this is not paradise... somehow we're, especially the privileged ones that we are, we somehow embrace the notion that this veil of tears, that it's perfectable, that you're going to get it all straight. I've found that things became a lot easier when I no longer expected to win.

有時，當你不再把自己當作自己戲劇中的主角，不再期盼一場又一場勝利，這時，你會深刻地了解這不是天堂。不知怎么，我們，特別是那些有特權(quán)的人，認為一切都是可以完美化的，可以順理成章地獲得。我發(fā)現(xiàn)當我不再期望勝利時，一切都變得容易多了。

There is a beautiful moment in the Bhagavad Gita Arjuna. The general. The great general. He's standing in his chariot. And all the chariots are readied for war. And across the valley, he sees his opponents. And there he sees not just uncles and aunts and cousins, he sees gurus, he sees teachers that have taught him; and you know how the Indians revere that relationship. He sees them. And Krishna, one of the expressions of the deity, says to him, "you'll never untangle the circumstances that brought you to this moment. You're a warrior. Arise now, mighty warrior." With the full understanding, that they've already been killed, and so have you. "This is just a play. This is my will. You're cuaght up in the circumstances that I determine for you. That you did not determine for yourself. So, arise, you're a noble warrior. Embrace your destiny, your fate, and stand up and do your duty."

在《簿伽竼歌》中有這樣優(yōu)美的一章，一個將軍。一個偉大的將軍。站在他的戰(zhàn)車上。所有戰(zhàn)車整裝待發(fā)。經(jīng)過山谷時，他看到了他的對手。他看到的不僅是親人，他看到了大師，那些曾教過他的老師。而你知道印度人是多么重視親人。Karishna，神的一種，對他說：“你永遠也不會了解使你來到此刻的機緣。你是一個斗士，崛起吧，勇猛的斗士。你該知道，他們已被殺死，你也一樣。這只是一出戲劇。這是我的意愿。我為你決定了命運的每刻，而你扼住了命運。但那是我為你選定的。所以，崛起吧，高貴的斗士。擁抱你的歸宿，你的命運，站起身來，行使職責?！?/p>

It was about the feeling that we have of betraying some mission that we were mandated to fulfill, and being unable to fulfill it. And then coming to understand that the real mandate was not to fulfill it, and that the deeper courage, was to stand guiltless in the predicament in which you found yourself.
