2 ) Essentialism
This film by Errol Moris features four characters with their separate, highly specialized but extraordinary careers: a lion trainer, a topiary sculptor, a mole-rat specialist, and a robot scientist.
Back to the title of this film, I felt “fast, cheap and out of control” aims to describe the process of how human’s essential needs being applied into actions, and how the eagerness of this need itself empowers human self to create regardless of environmental chaos, and taking anything away from logic tangibles. Since all the action being come from their original motivation, and thus they all are “Fast, Cheap, and Out of Control”.
In order to present their life more objectively, Moris takes himself as an interviewer behind the camera, who have the same curiosity about four characters’ life as other audiences, allows four interviewees to tell their real life in face of the camera or the audience. I think this camera technique called “Interrotron” powerfully fulfills the traditional function of documentaries – presenting the truth. And the First person story telling can also win the trust from all audiences.
In this film, instead of establishing four characters’ narration one by one, Moris interplays, overlaps and interrelates these four separate and highly specialized subjects and makes them correspond to each other in the general theme.

又快又賤又失控
四個(gè)擺男人，生命新旅程，挖哈哈哈哈
喜歡馴獸師和園藝師說(shuō)的話，另外兩人很煩。題材新穎，馬戲團(tuán)的遐想。
這四個(gè)人其實(shí)沒(méi)半點(diǎn)關(guān)系，放在一起很牽強(qiáng)，如果獨(dú)立看每一個(gè)會(huì)比較好，有點(diǎn)莫名其妙的紀(jì)錄片
就算是Erron Morris拍,這片也沒(méi)什么意思.這種好萊塢式的精良制作似乎并不是這種平淡內(nèi)容的最好搭配.也許拍得rough一點(diǎn)反倒沒(méi)有這么無(wú)聊.

每個(gè)受訪者在旁白時(shí)，會(huì)不時(shí)插入其他三人工作生活情境的片段，通過(guò)這種語(yǔ)言與視覺(jué)內(nèi)容錯(cuò)位的隱喻蒙太奇Morris將這四個(gè)職業(yè)全無(wú)相似性的個(gè)人聯(lián)系起來(lái)（這就是Errol Morris和Adam Curtis為何這么相似）。四人的相似點(diǎn)：熱愛(ài)自己的職業(yè)→對(duì)生命與秩序的思考
平凡人的平凡事，平凡事有不平凡的精彩。很有詩(shī)意的電影。
人研究動(dòng)物，人修裁樹(shù)木形似動(dòng)物，人制造機(jī)器欲作動(dòng)物，人作為人馴養(yǎng)動(dòng)物 & 人作為動(dòng)物本身。Observe, detail, touch, alarm & reflexive. 不同物種、不同材料間，如一個(gè)隱喻把兩個(gè)詞連通入同一意義空間，互感互新。傾斜平展、奇速頓慢、脫色顆粒、失察權(quán)變 & 知限超限。
技法上，攝影機(jī)總是不斷的嘗試不同程度的傾斜位置，卻全然不會(huì)對(duì)觀看造成影響.以及存在一段鮮明的主題音樂(lè)貫穿終始，這樣的做法也為影片四個(gè)職業(yè)創(chuàng)造了一種連續(xù)性，它的出現(xiàn)時(shí)常引起注意，以識(shí)別、理解人物的情感狀態(tài)或是內(nèi)在聯(lián)系.
看似完全不相干職業(yè)，都提煉出共同的人與動(dòng)物，自然，以及人和人之間關(guān)系的喻指。四個(gè)人物的素材穿插馴獸師老電影片段呼應(yīng)，雜技團(tuán)表演場(chǎng)面，動(dòng)畫(huà)等影像，大段音樂(lè)配合畫(huà)面節(jié)奏，采訪人物面對(duì)鏡頭，影像特效似梅里埃魔術(shù)，快慢鏡頭變化節(jié)奏感強(qiáng)烈，園藝師多動(dòng)作場(chǎng)景表現(xiàn)
A quirky approach to investigate the meaning of life through interviewing four unrelated passionate individuals. Very interesting and inspiring.

看完心里是很復(fù)雜的，既有希望，又心懷悲憫。自從人類誕生，我們又何時(shí)完全掌控過(guò)生命體的進(jìn)化方式？即便是人類親手創(chuàng)造的機(jī)器，也有不聽(tīng)使喚的時(shí)候。不過(guò)這沒(méi)有《失衡生活》里的冷漠，四個(gè)普通人，活得都不容易，都熱愛(ài)事業(yè)，為的是自己的價(jià)值體現(xiàn)，也是為了給后人留下點(diǎn)精神財(cái)富。神剪輯！神配樂(lè)！
